Heat Stress Mapping in Real Time
Using meteorological data and the latest methods to predict heat stress conditions
Preparing for a more resilient future
Heat stress is the product of multiple environmental factors. Unlike commonly used weather-based heat stress indexes, the Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) simulates the human body's heat exchange with the thermal environment. Estimating WBGT and related heat stress indices from real-time meteorological data allows for workers, athletes, and the general public to make informed decisions regarding heat exposure. Use our map and data tool to gather additional information about ambient conditions.
Update (6/22): The new interactive world edition of the map and dataset is up and running. The only error at the moment seems to be related to high wind speeds setting off heat advisories. Read more about recent developments in static mapping here.
